Directions

By Road: Windsor Racecourse is on the main A308 between Windsor and Maidenhead. From the M4 leave at junction 6 and follow the signs to Windsor. If traveling to the racecourse from the West it is best to leave the M4 at Junction 8/9, follow the dual carriageway directing you towards Maidenhead Centre, then take the A308 towards Windsor. Entrance to the racecourse can then be achieved by turning left into the Racecourse Yacht Basin road and following signs into the racecourse infrastructure after that. From the M3 leave at junction 2 to join the M25 and travel North towards Heathrow. Leave the M25 at junction 15 and join the M4 (West) to junction 6 as above. By Rail: There are frequent Rail services from Waterloo to Windsor and Eton Riverside directly. Also trains run from Paddington and Reading to Slough where you should change trains for Windsor Central. From both stations head for Barry Avenue Promenade on the River Thames to catch the Riverbus to the racecourse. Except on quiet days (or if it is close to the time the course opens) it is generally quicker and cheaper to get from anywhere in Windsor Town Centre by Riverbus rather than by taxi. By Boat: French Brother's Riverbus service operates from Barry Avenue Promenade close to Eton Bridge in the town centre. The river trip takes about ten minutes and the service runs back to the town centre after racing. |
