By Car: From M4 take junction 23a and take 1st exit onto B4245 to Caldicot. Branch left (signposted Magor, Caldicot). At roundabout take 3rd exit onto the B4245, continue through Magor then Rogiet onto Caldicot Road. From M48 take junction 2 for Chepstow and follow A48 (towards Newport) and B4245 to Caldicot. Caldicot Castle is signposted from B4245. Once in Caldicot, follow signs to Town Centre. Turn left/right opposite 'The Cross' pub. Follow road for 300 yds, turn right after 'The Castle' pub and follow road to castle. By Rail: Caldicot Halt is served by mainline services between Cardiff and Gloucester. From Bristol change at Severn Tunnel Junction. The castle is about a twenty minute walk from the station. From station walk straight up to the traffic lights, straight across and follow road to the Town Centre. Walk through the pedestrianised centre, past 'The Cross' pub (on left), cross Chepstow Road and onto Church Road. Follow road for 300yds, turn right after 'The Castle' pub and follow path. By Bus: Bus Services run to Caldicot from Bristol, Newport and Chepstow. Alight at The Cross (pub and cenotaph), the castle is about a five-minute walk along Church Road. |
