Once inhabited by the Roman Army, this ancient site provides a fascinating snapshot of Roman military life. Setting the scene for a unique historical experience are the timber gateway - including 70 feet of flanking ramparts - the granary building and Gyrus.

All are faithfully reconstructed from archaeological evidence.

    1st April to 31st October:
    Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday Mondays 10.30am - 4.30pm.

    22nd July to 3rd September:
    Also open Wednesday to Sunday 10.30am - 4.30pm

    Easter opening:
    Wednesday 12th April to Monday 17th April, and Wednesday 19th April to Sunday 23rd April - 10:30am - 4:30pm

    The fort will be closed on Saturday 27th May.

    Adult £2.00; Child (5-16) £1.00, under 5yrs Free; Family Ticket (2 adults + up to 4 children) £5.00.
