Leeds Art Gallery re-opened in June following a £1.5m renovation. As part of the improvements the gallery benefits from:
Founded in 1888, the Art Gallery is home to "probably the best collection of 20th century British art outside London" (The Times). There are also outstanding collections of English watercolours (which when not on show are available by appointment in the print room), Victorian and late 19th century French pictures, and an extensive display of twentieth century sculpture from Gill to Gormley.
The Gallery has an extensive programme of temporary exhibitions and workshops throughout the year, please telephone for details.
