Located in 3 acres of land on the edge of the Badminton Estate, between the M4 and M5, this cosy little hotel with a rich history is situated close to Bath, Bristol and the Cotswolds.This 17th century coaching inn was mentioned in the novel 'Northanger Abbey' by Jane Austen after she visited the house during her childhood.

It was built on the site of a 12th century priory which was destroyed by Henry VIII to provide rest to travellers on the Bath to Gloucester route.

The inn was extended in the Georgian period to its present state.

In more recent times, it has undergone an extensive makeover to ensure that the property's unique character is complimented by the convenience and reliability of modern amenities.
