The Jacobean-style Grade II listed mansion was constructed between 1857 and 1862 to replace a former hall built in 1720.

The popular TV series 'Allo,Allo', 'Dads Army' and 'You Rang My Lord' have been filmed here.There are 5 conference rooms that can host conferences for up to 500 people theatre style.

There are 2 banqueting suites which can host weddings of up to 250 people for a sit-down meal, and 600 people for an evening reception.
