Less than 100 metres from the beach and golf course, the Schooner is a 17th-century coaching inn, with 2 cosy bars, restaurant and centrally heated en suite bedrooms.

There are 2 conservatories, along with a garden and terrace that have superb views of the Aln Estuary.

The bars offer darts, pool and occasional live entertainment in a village-pub atmosphere.

There is also the Brigantine Restaurant, which specialises in local produce.

Some rooms have views of the estuary, sea and golf course.

The Schooner has a rich history in pretty seaside village of Alnmouth, with famous figures such as Charles Dickens, John Wesley, Basil Rathbone and King George III all said to have stayed there.The Schooner Hotel has twice won the title of 'Most Haunted Hotel in Great Britain’, awarded by The Poltergiest Society.
