This 17th century, luxury, boutique hotel is the only 4-star hotel in the centre of Lancaster, and is superbly situated in the heart of the city centre.

The hotel was originally built in the 17th century and is the oldest bar/hotel still operating in Lancaster.

With luxurious rooms and comfortable furnishings, the hotel is an ideal base for an upmarket stay in the city.

The hotel is situated in the very centre of Lancaster, within yards of the castle and all the city's other attractions.

St Martin's College (University of Cumbria) and Lancaster University are both an easy commute from the hotel.

The hotel regularly welcomes many visiting academics from both institutes.Since the current owners bought The Sun Hotel in 2003, they have carefully rebuilt it.

The Sun Hotel is a listed building situated in the Lancaster Castle Conservation Area.

As a result, it was impossible to add a lift - the 1st and 2nd floors are accessed by stairs.
