Graythwaite was started by the Blakemore family in 1937 and quickly became a special and much-loved hotel to which faithful guests have returned year after year.
The hotel has now passed into the enthusiastic and caring ownership of Mrs Jane Duncan and her husband Jim, who are committed to making Graythwaite into one of the finest and most unique hotels in the country.
Some members of the Blakemore family are still involved in the day-to-day running of the hotel, and a warm welcome and personal care and attention are the constant aim, as much today as they were in the hotel's early days.
Elegant, spacious lounges with fresh flowers and antiques are part of the atmosphere.
