One question for the philatelists and/or historians amongst us.

On what date [even the year would suffice] did the Post Office commence issuing Regional stamps for Northern Ireland ?

In other words, when did that Region remove itself from Eire as such ?

I presume that the first such issue would have been the Machin Quenn's Head issue which was being used all over the U.K. ?
