motorhome travel in scotland - 23 May 2011 10:24:32
we are renting a motorhome for the first time this summer and heading to the west coast of the highlands. Can we stop at the roadside to sleep without being moved on in quiet locations?

I don't think there's any specific legislation preventing you from sleeping in a motorhome in a layby overnight - unless there is a specific bylaw prohibiting it in that area.

Obviously you'd need to make sure you weren't causing an obstruction, either to the road or to a field access - but if you choose your spot sensibly, you ought to be ok for a single night.

Enjoy your holiday!
