Pirbright in the 1950s? - 27 Aug. 2010 11:05:28
I have quite recently moved to Guildford and realised that in the late 1950s/early1960s, I spent a weeks holiday in Pirbright.
It was arranged through my local church, we slept in a wooden hut that had no windows, only openings with blinds if it rained. There was a second hut with kitchen facilities and a small open air swimming pool. We ate outside and I remember walking down a tree lined lane to reach the site.
My husband (Guildford born and bred) has no idea what this place could have been and I have no photos or any other info about it - does anyone know where I may have stayed? And does this place exist today?
Thank you for any help
Janice E
