Please make a small change to the description of our village. When I originally submitted the info, I was incorrectly informed.

The second paragraph should now read as follows:

A navigable river, the Kyme Eau, flows through the centre of the village becoming the River Slea as it flows upstream towards Sleaford. This once was a main trading route between Sleaford and the Port of Boston before the days of the railway and metalled roads. Each year on May Bank Holiday weekend, a number of narrowboat enthusiasts make the journey upstream from the River Witham to meet at the village for an annual festival. The village residents also hold their popular scarecrow competition over the same weekend.

Thank You

Peter Bettis

Once again I have to update the information about what is now known as South Kyme Festival

The second paragraph should now read as follows:

A navigable river, the Kyme Eau, flows through the centre of the village becoming the River Slea as it flows upstream towards Sleaford. This once was a main trading route between Sleaford and the Port of Boston before the days of the railway and metalled roads. Each year during May/Spring Bank Holiday weekend, a number of narrowboat enthusiasts make the journey upstream from the River Witham to meet at the village for the annual festival. The village residents also hold their popular scarecrow competition over the same weekend. The South Kyme Festival has now grown into a major Lincolnshire event with Kyme Tower open to the public and a Medieval themed fete held on the Tower field. More information can be found at http://www.skfest.co.uk
