London is just one part of England albeit a rather amazing part. But there are so many traditional and quaint English towns such as Oxford, Cambridge and Winchester just a few hours away from the capital city. It is worth a day trip to likes of Bath to see the Roman baths, to Oxford to see the amazing university architecture or the country of Wiltshire to see Stonehenge in all its glory.

If you are feeling rather adventurous you could even get on the Eurostar to Calais, Paris or Brussels. This site provides an insight into where you can visit within easy commuting distance from London - http://golondon.about.com/od/londondaytrips/tp/topdaytrips.htm
