It is a shame that many people believe London is out of reach financially. It is also a fallacy that the only healthy holidays can be taken in the country. However, London can not only provide a superb outdoors vacation but it can also be cheap to sightsee. The main advantage that the capital has is that the majority of the famous London attractions are located within a small area, so it is easy to plan a walking holiday that takes you past awesome landmarks, incredible museums and galleries and numerous events and festivals. From walks that make history come alive to a romantic stroll along beautiful riverbanks and parks, there is something for everyone. And, of course all this walking saves money and carbon footprints. Plus a large number of the national attractions are free. A great place to take a walking holiday in London is along its famous Southbank. Strolling past places of historic momentum such as Westminster and Big Ben, you can cross time to modern day achievement by taking a ride on the London Eye. ALong this route you can visit many places that have free entry such as the Tate Modern, Tate Britian and Imperial War Museum. Many of these places are family friendly with picnic areas so there is no need to dine out all the time. Also this area is buzzing with relatively cheap little cafes, restaurants and stalls all of which are easier to find on a walking tour rahter than tubing it to each place. So it would be a shame to miss all the amazing sights on offer due to the mistaken belief that city breaks need be indulgent and costly.
