I've been getting carried away recently with all my plans prior to returning to the UK, and I've been thinking of all things very ENGLISH, as you would.

I've especially been thinking about Christmas (I have so struggled with a hot Christmas in Australia) am whilst laying in bed one night I thought of snow, frost, Santa, huge Christmas tree then a tune came into my head about reindeer, you know the one....
'There was Prancer and Dancer, Donna and Blitzen, Cupid and Comet, ???? Lo and behold and couldn't remember the last two reindeer so I asked my husband.

Now I know it;s a long time since he was in England, scary in fact, but I was just not expecting his reply of 'Dave, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch!

That was the last thing I expected. Anyway, not to worry, I got out of bed and looked it up on the internet. It was Dasher and Vixen, then of course Rudolph.

I am so excited about going home.

I thought that there was a Dee in there, somewhere ?? I seem to remember the group (name ??) as being Dave, Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich.

Anyway, no doubt you've all heard how Rudolph got his title, haven't you ?? if you haven't then you're going to now. So pull op a sleigh and make yourselves comfortable.

Out in deepest, darkest Siberia, there was once a couple of people living in an isolated cabin, miles from anywhere.

His name was Rudolph and I think that she was called Mrs. Rudolph.

Anyway, came just one more cold, miserable, damp sort of a day, quite like summer really, and suddenly the Good Lady says, "Ooh, look, it's snowing".

To which he replied, "No, it's only raining".

This led to an animated discussion, as such things do, until he eventually yelled "Rudolph, The Red, knows rain, Dear".

And upon that note I shall gracefully retire from the discussion (for the moment).

Ah! Forgot about Dee. Yes, it is getting all a biy scary but I'm coping.

We're renovating a house which the plan is to get it on the market for November as the housing market here is still boyant mainly because we're 6 months behind everywhere else (thank God). After this, we can slow the pace a bit. Right now I feel like I'm steering a ship and mustn't take my eyes off the wheel.

I dunno about keeping your eyes on the wheel.... I think that it would be much safer to keep your eyes trained on what's happening outside and keep the hands on the wheel.

But, there again, I've never steered a ship, so I wouldn't really know.......

Which, of course brings up the old question - why do they call ships "she??"

Answer - have you ever tried to steer one ??

Don't blame me - I'm only passing on what I've heard.
