Well, I have to tell you the real reason for the inspiration for going back to England and how no matter how far we travel in life, a person never looses connection withy their roots.

I bought my husband the DVD of the film called The Holiday with Jsck Black, Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant and Cameraon Diaz. Anyone seen it?
It's about two betrayed women, one in England, one in the US, and they swap homes for Christmas.

The UK home is a snow clad cottage in England, the Cotswolds I think, and it's just gorgeous.
Well my husband fell in love with all of it and I just sat and cried with fond memories and really that's what made us decide.
Daft I know but we're on our way.

I saw that movie, yes it was very pretty in England. You better settle someplace that get snow for Christmas.

My friend in England was telling me that because off the climate change, the seasons seem to be disappearing and now it seems to be same old, same old as far as the weather goes.
I hope not.
May our Winter skies be filled with snow for many years to come. At least while I'm here anyway. I love snow.
When we were children we built a snowman around my little brother once and got an immediate lesson in how Eskimos live. It was so warm inside that he fell asleep. We got distracted and forgot about him then wandered off to go sledging. When we got back my frantic parents were about to call the police to report my brother missing!

We all had to go to bed with no tea that night.

Innocent days.

Just looking at the opening post of this thread, Nadine, I'm surprised that you used lower case in the word "home'.

I have found that, whenever a person refers to their country of origin, they almost invariably use "Home".

This seems to be especially applicable to persons from the Old Country.

I'm not being facetious in this, just making an (I hope) intelligent observation.
