Shannon -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (13 Apr. 2008 23:27:50 )

We bought a 3br/2ba house in Cherry Hill, NJ. It was built in 1980 and it was an estate sale. Lots and I mean lots of work. From removing the popcorn ceilings[:'(] to removing the disco wallpaper is just the start. LOL![:o]

I would much rather be hanging out in Rye.[:D]

Well at least I can *pretend* to be on va-cay reading this thread! He-he[;)]

marie -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (14 Apr. 2008 12:46:24 )

I am in London now. My room for some reason got upgraded [:D]. I have been to Whittards (you are all set Lisa- but your job is to find the one in Boston, so the clerk told me.) Tonight I am going to see The importance of being ernest with penelope Kieth. I have seen it so many times but it is fun seeing an actress you know about.

This connection is timed and on my credit card [:'(], so I will give a full report when I get home and then I will tell you about the man I met in Dover - NOT Henry VIII [;)]. It's all sort of bizarre for me.

ta ta for now[:)]

marie -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (14 Apr. 2008 12:50:04 )

Oh, by the way. the weather has been perfect. I got 5 minutes of rain in Winchelsea and 2 in Dover. the gods have been good to me. Sorry, just thought I would add that. Off to see all of London in 5 hours [sm=propeller.gif][sm=rotfl.gif][sm=bouncy.gif]

Lisa -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (14 Apr. 2008 18:14:08 )

EXCUSE ME!?!?!? There is a Whittard's Tea Shop in Boston, of all places? If there is one, have no fear, I will find it and I promise not to dump any of it into the Harbah! [:D]

When you return, Marie, and I see you, I will be bending over so you can give me a good, hard kick in the arse for not going. Sounds like this was a perfect vacation, in all respects, and I am still PO'd at myself for not going. It has been hellish at work so an escape would have been nice. I am so glad it all worked out so well for you....a room upgrade AND meeting a man......can't wait to hear the dirt on that! [;)]

The weather will be awesome on your return so the good luck continues........

Lisa -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (14 Apr. 2008 18:23:34 )

Well, that didn't take long.......it's on Newbury St. in Boston, which is the swankiest address in Town, aside from Beacon Hill. Hasn't been open very long but it's on my list to visit next time I go into Town! I still think it is much more fun to buy it in London!

Shannon -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (15 Apr. 2008 1:00:52 )

We want DIRT Marie! Spill it sister![:D]

marie -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (15 Apr. 2008 16:15:03 )

The King Tut exhibit was great!! The dome or O2 that it is called now is really something. I saw it in 2000 and it has come a long way. I am glad they were able to use it. Saki, I did take your advice and return via boat. What a great way to see London - a whole different angle. Got off at Embankment and walked along river to Parliment. I wanted to see Rodin's Burger of Calis (not sure that is spept right. I have just been walking around the city taking turns here and there. Forgot my mp, so it has been an adventure.
The play last night was wonderful. It is interesting how some roles change a bit with different actors. BesidesPenelope Keith there were 2 actors from "As times goes by" that I knew. It really was fun.

Ah - the man......He followed me home, I thought he was kidding when he said he would have a cup of coffee with me. He picked me up on the bus and then did not get off at his stop. I was stuck with him for a long bus ride.I was so afraid he would not catch his bus back. Don't worry, nothing happened, but not for lack of trying on his part[:'(] yuck
Not sure what I will do now, rest up a bit and then think about dinner.
Tommorrow morning it is off to airport and home[X(] I will be sad to see this trip end. It has been wonderful from start to finish. I have rubbing it in, but Lisa you missed out. I have thought of you alot. Gluten free all of the place.
Sorry about typos, hope you can figure it out. I am on the computer in my room and the screen is far from the table aI am sitting at. Can't see all that well.
On THURSDAY< I WILL START my full formal report>

Lisa -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (15 Apr. 2008 16:59:40 )

Yes, you have been rubbing it in, Marie, but I deserved it. It's been tough because had I gone, it would have been bad from a work perspective also. We are in the middle of a program that is having technical problems and the poop has hit the fan and we are in hyper-mode now. When you are not given enough time to properly design and build something, when problems arise, it can get ugly with deadlines. But would that have been on my mind if I were there doing one of my favorite things that you mentioned just now....walking aimlessly around London, seeing where my feet take me? A resounding "NO" but I'm sure my boss would feel differently about that! [:@]
I must have been picking up on your vibes because I have mentally followed you around all week! Maybe that's why you kept seeing gluten free all over.

Damn, Lady, you have done all my favorite things there! We'll have to talk when you return and I'll have to see if I can't get you to go back this Fall! [:D] I'm serious.......

As far as the man is concerned, are you sure that wasn't my ex-husband? His behavior sounds creepy familiar.....[:o]

...now that's funny.

Well, I must say Marie, I have enjoyed reading about your wonderful va-cay. I hope I will be writing another trip report soon.

Have a good flight!

Lisa -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (15 Apr. 2008 22:35:53 )

Well, Shannon, that's one of the positives about your move......think how much closer you are to the UK now that you are living in Jersey! The BEST tickets prices are to be had out of JFK.

Shannon -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (15 Apr. 2008 22:43:16 )

Lisa,
It will be fantastic that I will be able to get to the UK faster than it took to fly from California to the east coast. Yippee!!![p]

tayldn -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (28 May 2008 12:54:45 )

We were driving past Bodiam castle the other day and our Garmin started telling us about it- which was interesting. My husband bought it- Roadtour I think. Sort of gives us a moving tour of the UK when we're travelling on the basis we miss most of it when you're in the car.

marie -> RE: Hip, Hip, Hoo Rye (28 May 2008 23:46:55 )

Welcome aboard tayldn. I just got a Garmin that is suppose to be good in Europe. Was that a program you got? can it be down loaded? Just in case I get back to UK and my friend Lisa is driving [:D]
