Take a trip back in Time….
At Carlton Colville you will find a unique transport museum, this is the only place in the British Isles where visitors can not only view, but also ride on all three principal forms of public transport from the earlier part of last century, tram, trolleybus and light railway. This collection is one of the finest examples if its kind, and evokes memories for all its visitors.Once inside the museum, there is so much to see and do that you'll want to stay all day. Whether you take a ride on the Woodland Tramway or experience the silence and comfort of the Trolleybus service, there is a new discovery to be made every minute. Or why not soak up the real atmosphere of the past with a walk along our period street - complete with authentic street
furniture. Hear the swish of trolley poles, the purr of the diesel engine, or the rhythmic hiss of steam, making this a real trip back in time.
As an added attraction, the East Suffolk Light Railway winds its way sleepily round the site. There is also ample opportunity to view the many vehicles on the vast museum collection, which has been gathered from not only the towns and cities of Britain but around the world, and see how these are being lovingly restored to their former glory. Once all the excitement is over - why not take the time to relax in the park or the café, just watching the past glide by.
