A World Of New Adventures For The 2009 Opening Of Chessington

Bursting open on 28 March 2009 with a whopping seven new attractions, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo will be introducing new shows, new characters, new animals and even restaurants to its already exciting world of Adventures - all in one place!

For some spectacular underwater action, the newly opened SEA LIFE Centre is launching a brand new Amazonia exotic display housing eight new colourful species including Piranhas, Spitting Archer fish, Bumble Bee Goby and Dwarf Puffer fish.

Exotic animals including Meerkats, Coati (a mammal in the racoon family), Binturongs (also known as 'bearcat' - a viverrid mammal from South East Asia) and Macaws will come up close and personal to audiences in the brand new Wild Wood Animal Antics Presentation in two daily shows, and the Ocean Rangers will take centre stage at Sea Lion Bay during a very special, all action show during the summer months.

If you look really closely at the Zoo you may see some tiny new additions, which come in the form of Pygmy Marmoset Monkeys - the smallest monkey in the world! These miniature monkeys will join the gang in the Monkey & Bird Garden, together with fellow new arrivals - the Red Handed Tamarins and Goeldi's Monkeys.

And new, colourful characters including 'Miss Information', 'Sir Help-a-Lot', Daffodil the Cow and Kevin & George the gorilla and keeper, as well as the more familiar Dennis the Menace and the dragons Spike and Cinders will be roaming the park for some impromptu entertainment.

For some quality time out, two new restaurants will tickle those taste buds! Travel to the Forbidden Kingdom and grab a seat at the new Egyptian themed 'Fried Chicken Co.', or try 'Market Square Pizza Pasta,' for plenty of healthy options and delicious freshly made pizzas.

Later this year there will be plenty of freaky frolics at Chessington's Halloween Hocus Pocus event when the witches come back to cause mayhem at the park. Rides in the dark and a new 'Black Forest Pass' walk through will send chills down the backs of even the bravest souls - let's see who can make it onto the Vampire ride without screaming!

With exciting rides and animals, action packed shows and a newly opened aquarium, Chessington is a whole World of Adventures all in one place!
