Bedford Museum and Cecil Higgins Art Gallery are currently closed forre-development and amalgamation and will re-open at the end of2012/beginning of 2013

Housed in the former Higgins and Sons Brewery, Bedford Museum is situated within the picturesque gardens of Bedford Castle, beside the Great Ouse Embankment. The collections reflect the human and natural history of Bedford and the surrounding area.

Unearth the secrets of Bedfordshire's past from prehistoric times to the foundation of Bedford as the market town we know today. Discover the dramatic story of the villainous Falkes de Breaute whose antics resulted in the siege of Bedford Castle in 1224. Revel in the splendour of the medieval tile pavement from Warden Abbey.
