Millfields House is a comfortable family home with a lovely garden, quietly situated, just five minutes walk from the historic market town of Cranbrook.
From the house there are far reaching views over the town, its famous smock mill, the church of St Dunstans and playing fields.
The house has two well-appointed bedrooms (one twin room with en-suite shower and one double with private bathroom).
Weather permitting, tea is served to guests in the garden on their arrival, either under the Medlar tree or by the wildlife pond.
Each day a delicious breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the garden, using locally sourced produce and home-made preserves.
Millfields is a great place to stay, for visitors wanting to explore the beautiful countryside of the Garden of England; the area is renowned for its glorious gardens including Sissinghurst and Great Dixter, castles such as Bodiam, Leeds and Hever and historic houses for example Knole, Ightham Mote, Batemans (the home of Rudyard Kipling, Churchill's beloved Chartwell and Penshurst Place.
Within an hour's drive are the dramatic chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters, Beachy Head and the White Cliffs of Dover. From impressive cathedrals to steam railways, grand vineyards and charming medieval towns and villages, there is plenty to see and do.
Cranbrook has a fine church, an interesting museum, antique and clothes shops, as well as a good choice of places to eat out, including tea rooms, coffee shops, a fine Michelin starred restaurant and a wine bar all within walking distance.
