California Farm is situated in the beautiful Cotswolds and is surrounded by absolutely stunning countryside.

Our family run farmhouse Bed & Breakfast accommodation is located one mile from the historic village of Charlton Kings.

The traditional limestone built farmhouse commands stunning, panoramic views over the beautiful Cotswold countryside, as far as the eye can see and offers complete privacy and a distinct sense of "getting away from it all".

We are fortunate to be completely secluded, yet within easy reach of all amenities and activities.

Hallway into Living Room fully renovated to an exceptionally high standard, the farmhouse has a real feeling of a family home; in restoring this once dilapidated house, we have been able to retain many original features (beams, stone walls and fireplaces), with modern decoration and furnishings in the traditional farmhouse style.

A lovely welcoming hallway, leads through to a large guest lounge with deep comfortable sofas and a magnificent fireplace.

The dining area is elegant without being austere and overlooks the garden and surrounding countryside.

We have 3 bedrooms, one double and two twin rooms and two (including the double) are with full, en-suite bathroom; the rooms are all attractive - each with their own individual style and are simply but comfortably furnished.

There is a large, lawned garden with beautiful trees and shrubs, outside dining area and a pond.

To the rear of the property are our stables. The long private drive leads to an ample parking area at the front of the property.

There is a lovely restaurant within a 15 minute country walk, which boasts a celebrity chef, Martin Blunos.

The Cotswold Way runs thorough the village and from there, you can experience the full beauty of this part of the Cotswolds; many of our guests, visit us as part of their walk along Britain's National Trail.

You will be warmly welcomed at California Farm, with tea and home-made cakes on arrival and we will do everything we can, to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible.

"California Farm is only a few minutes by foot from public footpaths outside Charlton Kings, which lead to the Cotswolds Way. This small 3 room guesthouse offers the visitor excellent value-for-money. Our room, the neatest and cleanest I've ever seen in a B&B, included unexpected extras such as a hairdryer, quality bed linens, coffee and tea making in-room, a big window overlooking green trees and the garden (and a stunning view of the Cotswolds in the distance) and all this comes at a similar cost to a normal B&B! We were given a very warm welcome with tea and home-made cakes on arrival which was a nice touch. The TV lounge with its comfy chairs and fireplace make a welcome place to relax after a long day out walking. The dining area is spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing and was prepared and served by the live-in owners. It was everything you'd expect in a full English breakfast (plus fresh fruit and yoghurt and a greater variety of cereals than we expected). They made sure everyone had what they needed, including the kids present who predictably preferred the Cocoa Pops to all the healthy choices on offer! California Farm is ideal for anyone who has reason to be in the area, or would like a place from which to go rambling into the Cotswolds on foot. My wife and I came down from London on a weekend break, to go for countryside walks, and found the 3-mile ride from Cheltenham Spa station to be an easy and scenic drive in a taxi. Directions

From Cheltenham head North West on A46 / Bath Road: At the junction with the A40 Sandford Road, turn left onto the Old Bath Road. Turn Right at A40 London Road and continue for about two miles. After passing the BP garage and Cox Horn Farm on your right, turn right onto Capel Lane. California Farm is half way down on the right before Old Role Farm. If you are using a GPS to find us: We have found that relying on the postcode alone, will put you in completely the wrong location! Instead - use Capel Lane, Charlton Kings and then follow the lane to right before Old Role Farm where we are signposted.
