An environmentally friendly, contemporary, 4 star B & B overlooking Loch Torridon within the Torridon Mountain range.

A quiet, peaceful, pretty, working village, with bar and shop in walking distance (open all year).

A West Coast location within the North West Highlands and Wester Ross.

We provide really comfortable beds and hearty home cooked breakfasts.

Having travelled extensively ourselves, we pay great attention to detail, cleanliness and the comfort of our visitors.

Guests have their own 1st floor lounge, with panoramic views out to sea along with a wood burner for chilly evenings. Free Wifi or laptop access with broadband connection. Drying room with washing machine. Architect designed dining room, to take advantage of the panoramic mountain and sea views.

Then there are the little touches - hand made soap, white fluffy towels and hospitality tray with a choice of tea, coffee. We try to make your travelling easier.

Shieldaig is a great place to base yourself, whilst walking nearby Beinn Eighe, Liathach, Alligin & Beinn Damph.

We have maps, books, walking information, provide a daily weather forecast and offer suggestions to help you get the most out of your time here. Bikes for hire & storage shed for your bike.

Sightseeing could include a trip to the Perfume studio, Inverewe and Attadale Gardens, Lochcarron weavers, Carron Pottery, Eilean Donan Castle, Strome castle ruins.

The Isle of Skye is not so far away, with Tallisker distillery, the ancient Brochs and Gavin Maxwell territory, where you can still "go over the sea to Skye". A trip over the Bealach na Ba is a must to explore Applecross.

The food here along the coast is fantastic, with produce from the sea, hill and garden.

There are so many arts and crafts you can be very spoilt for choice. Watch the weaver working at Lochcarron, buy hand dyed wool gifts from croft wools. Make your own dream catchers at Kishorn and watch pots being hand thrown at Carron pottery, pick up some stained glass or chose from a plethora of art at Achintraid or Gairloch.

The section of West coast from the Mallaig, north to Ullapool and beyond is incredibly beautiful and wild. Coast and beaches, bays and islands, mountains and lochs, rugged wild landscapes.
There is something for everyone - home from home in the Highlands.
