    Corbett House, originally the village forge, has been sympathetically extended to provide a comfortable home with many of the original features retained.

    The renovated barn with a minstrel's gallery where the hayloft used to be is the guest lounge and the adjoining conservatory overlooks a very private cottage garden in the heart of this quiet rural village.

    We have two pretty rooms both with en-suite bathrooms, TV, central heating, hair dryers and tea/coffee facilities. We offer a breakfast choice, a comfortable bed and a friendly welcome from Scottish hosts.

    Hadrian's Wall and the National Trail is less than half a mile away making Irthington ideally placed for those walking Hadrian's Wall (our O.S. Grid Reference is NY498617).

    We have drying facilities for those rare wet days and our packed lunches are excellent value (please let us know about packed lunches the day before you require them), plus we'll fill your flask with tea or coffee.

    Irthington is a small friendly and pretty village with a shop and Post Office, a school and a pub and yet is only 15 minutes from Carlisle, the M6 or the A69. If you are travelling on the M6 we are the ideal relaxing stopover and we will be happy to give directions whether you are north or south bound.

    Pricing and Opening Times
    Seasons Open: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter.

    Bed and full Breakfast per night in our twin or double room is £32.00 - £40.00 per person (based on two people sharing).

    Single occupancy of a bed in the twin room as the third member of a party is £40.00.

    Single occupancy of a double or twin alone is £45.00 (£5.00 surcharge on designated public holidays).

    All Year. Closed Christmas and New Year i.e. closed 23rd December until 3rd January.

    Directions
    Motering:
    From the M6 Junction 44 (Carlisle North) take the exit from the roundabout above the motorway to the A689 signed Hexham & Carlisle Airport. Follow the A689 for approximately 5.9 miles and take the turning to the left signed "Carlisle Airport & Irthington". Follow this minor road straight to Irthington - ignore the turn off to the airport. Once in the village, drive past the pub (on your left) and the school (on your right) until you come to the church. Look to your left and you will see a white house behind a high hedge - turn left in to our drive .

    Walking:
    From Newtown either walk down the road or the marked path into Irthington, turn right along the main street and past the village shop. We are situated right in the middle of the village on the main street. We just tell people to look for the white house opposite the church of Saint Kentigern (1169). Rural tranquillity and a very private garden with either Carlisle or Gilsland another days walk away. The pub is just a hundred meters or so from the house and Hadrian's Wall Trail is less than half a mile away up the hill.
