The Airlie Guest House is a listed building, part of a Georgian Terrace. It is totally non smoking and personally run by proprietors Peter and Fiona Flynn.
We are located on an excellent bus route only 1 miles from Princes Street. Buses pass the Guest House every few minutes.
Our rooms are comfortable and we offer competitive rates. We can accommodate our Guests in a variety of rooms including, single, double, twin and family. Most rooms have en-suite facilities and all have a wash basin, tea/coffee making facilities, television with freeview box, central heating and secondary glazing. There is a WiFi hot spot and a computer with Internet access is available between 8am and 10pm daily.
Our large private car park at the rear of the house, takes the worry out of parking, making The Airlie an ideal base for business travellers, or visitors wishing to explore the wonderful City of Edinburgh.
A full cooked breakfast is included in the price and is served between 8am an 9am daily. If you would like a copy of our menu please contact us.
Check in is from 11.30am until 8pm although we may be able to accommodate arrivals outwith these times so please ask. Check out is 10am.
On arrival you will receive a set of keys, allowing you access to the Guest House and your room at any time.
We are only one mile from the High Street, where the Castle and Holyrood Palace are located; you will also find St. Giles Cathedral and several small museums there.
Just a short walk from the High Street is Princes Street, where you can take bus tours of Edinburgh, visit the Scott Monument, enjoy a walk through Pricess Street Gardens, or do a bit of shopping.
A five minute walk from the Guest House, will take you to the Royal Commonwealth Pool and Leisure centre, where there is an Olympic size swimming pool, children's pool, diving pool and keep fit facilities.
Continuing past the Pool, you will enter the Royal Park and be able to see Arthur's Seat, which you can climb and enjoy the magnificent views of Edinburgh available from there.
Alternatively, you could drive up to the top, (my preference) and enjoy the views the easy way.
Close to the Guest House, there are a variety of eating establishments, ranging from a wonderful Indian restaurant, to Chinese, Thai, Italian, bistro food, pub grub and fish and chips.

| Directions | |
| From The Railway Station: Either take a taxi, which will take about 7 minutes to reach the Guest House, or walk up on to Princes Street and take a number 3, 29, 31, 37 or 37A bus. Get off at the second bus stop on Minto Street and the Guest House is located about 50 yards down the road on your left. Guests Arriving Into The Bus Station: Directions are as above, except that you need to walk from the Bus Station to Princes Street first. For Guests Arriving At Edinburgh Airport: Take the airport bus and get off at Waverley Bridge. From there, follow the instructions as above, from the Railway Station. From the Forth Road Bridge: Follow the signs for City Bypass South. Once you are on the bypass drive for about 6 miles to the Straiton exit. Continue for 3 miles until you come to a roundabout (the Cameron Toll shopping Centre is on your right hand side); carry straight on through 2 sets of pedestrian traffic lights, then at the next set of lights, turn right into East Mayfield, then turn first left up a lane into the Airlie Guest House car park. From the A7: Follow the signs for the A7 City Centre to the Cameron Toll roundabout. Take the second exit off the roundabout. Follow signs and road markings from Old Town. Go through two sets of traffic lights and at the third set of traffic lights, turn left into East Mayfield. Drive almost to the end of the street and you will see a white cottage with a lane beside it. This is on your right hand side; turn up this lane and drive into the Airlie Guest House car park. |
