  • Superb rooms with excellent ensuite facilities.
  • Well situated for exploring the north of Skye.

  • Hillcroft is a traditional croft house built circa 1920, which has been extended and modernised over the years. The new owners, Janet and Robin, have refurbished the whole house, in particular the bedrooms and ensuites have been upgraded to provide well appointed guest rooms.

There is a comfortable sitting room with an open fire to sit round if the evenings are chilly, and a bright sunny dining room for morning breakfast.

Hillcroft has spectacular views across Loch Snizort beag to the Trotternish hills in the east with glimpses of the spectacular black Cuillin ridge to the south.

Hillcroft is situated on the A850, midway between Portree, the capital of Skye, and Dunvegan with its historic castle, home to the clan MacLeod, and just a few minutes further on you come to the coral beaches passing quite a large seal colony on the way.

Hillcroft is just a short walk from the rocky shore line where you can often see seals and otters, cormorants, oyster catchers and herons, plus a wide variety of seabirds on Aird Point. The Trotternish ridge, the Quirang and the Old Man of Storr are just a short drive away, and the famous Cuillin is about a 40 minute drive.

There is a 9-hole golf course at nearby Skeabost Hotels where a day's fishing can also be arranged, and pony trekking is available at Suledale.

For those interested in arts and crafts there is the Edinbane pottery and the galleries and craft shops in Waternish which is just a short drive from Hillcroft.

There are several fine eating places nearby, including Skeabost House Hotel and Country Club at Skeabost Bridge, The Lodge at Edinbane, Greshornish House on the shores of Loch Greshornish, The Stein Inn and The Loch Bay Fish Restaurant both at Stein, with the renowned The Three Chimneys Restaurant at Colbost just a 20 minute drive from the house.
