The Barns are surrounded by fields in an area of great beauty. The cowshed is independent of our house and was designed to welcome arts groups, musicians, writers artists for periods of work.
Although compact it feels spacious, with every room opening outwards, through french doors into its own private garden secluded by cordon apple trees.
Furnishings are simple but aethetic. Our intention is that guests should feel as much at home as possible. In addition to the bedroom ( with beds made up as twin or double)there is a conservatory/ orangery and TV. It is therefore like a short term holiday cottage.Upstairs there is a gallery with double bed suitable for a child or small children sharing. The access is a narrow spiral staircase difficult for the large in either dimension.
We therefore provide the means for self catering breakfast (at your own time and pace, and privacy). We ask, in return for minimum bookings of two nights.
It is ten minutes from Stourhead and the numerous walks in Bruton Forest, as well as a number of notable houses; Barrington Court, Tintinhull, Longleat, Montacute, Lytes Cary all half an hour's drive.
A car is essential.
