West Prawle House, rebuilt after a fire at the end of the 19th Century, still contains parts of the original farm house which was the only dwelling in East Portlemouth parish to have been listed in the Domesday Book.
With far-reaching views inland towards Dartmoor, we nestle at the head of a valley, below the worst of the prevailing winds. We are within half a mile of the inspiring South Hams coastline and coastal path, midway between East Portlemouth and East Prawle, the southernmost village in Devon.
Our grounds, which are open to our guests, include a part of West Prawle valley with a small lake, with Gipsy caravan and barbeque area, Our small flock of the "at risk" Grey-faced Dartmoor sheep share the grounds with horses, chickens and ducks.
We have two letting suites, each comprising a double bedroom, sitting-room and shower-room. Both suites have French windows leading on to the wide veranda which runs the length of the house and where on summer mornings we can serve your breakfast.
The sitting-rooms have fold down beds to give additional sleeping accommodation if required.
The Family suite has bunks. There is a TV and tea-making facilities in each suite, as well as a small fridge and microwave and we are happy to provide accommodation for children and most pets
(by arrangement).
We have a travel cot but we do not provide any bedding for this.
