We are a small comfortable B&B only 5 minutes walk from West Bay and 10 minutes walk to Bridport.
The rooms are all comfortable fitted with tea and coffee making facilities. TV in all rooms plus hair dryers, en suite facilities available.
Breakfast can be whatever you would like. I am happy to cook full English breakfast or cater for special diets, meat eaters or vegetarians are all welcome.
Breakfast is served in the large farmhouse kitchen by the huge Aga stove, its all very friendly and informal.
I would like to introduce you to a new side to our business. We have long been advocates of organic food, and I myself keep a few backyard hens as I hate all things supamarket!
In the last few years Bridport has become one of the leading lights in the west country to promote locally grown food.
I would therefore like to offer organic breakfast to all those like minded people. We have a great farmers market in Bridport and our very own celebrity chef who gets involved and even sells his own produce "Hugh Fernley Whittingstall". Of course there will be an £8.00 charge for this. The choice is yours.
ABOUT WEST BAT AND BRIDPORT
You are in for a surprise when you realize all that we have here.
Fleet Cottage is only 10 minutes walk away from the sea at West Bay with its beautiful orange cliffs and wonderful coastal walks.
Four excellent restaurants with lots of local seafood. Fishing trips an excellent golf course for those who enjoy.
The River Brit is a 5 minute stroll away across the fields.
There is also horse riding and pony trekking at Burton Bradstock 2 miles from West Bay.
Bridport is 15 minutes walk to the north of Fleet Cottage a small market town full of local history and interest.
Street markets every Wednesday and Saturday, you can spend a pleasant hour just perusing the many stalls with local produce and bric-a-brac.
Or sit and people watch with a cup of coffee from one of the pavement cafes.
The fields around Bridport were a great flax growing area at the beginning of the last century and rope making is still quite a trade. At one time Bridport supplied nets and ropes for fishermen all over the world.
The whole of the Dorset coastline has been awarded World Heritage status and we at West Bay are the Gateway to Dorsets Jurassic Coast.
This area is also steeped in the wonderful tales of Thomas Hardy who wrote about the people, small towns and villages in all West Dorset. A place not to miss.
