  • Set in peaceful Mid-Suffolk countryside where time really does have a slower pace, Moat Hill Farmhouse (not a working farm) offers guests old fashioned value for money. Service is warm, friendly, yet unobtrusive in comfortable, clean and well appointed accommodation that will enhance any length or type of stay.

    Our guests have exclusive use of their own lounge & dining room. The light & airy lounge provides for peaceful relaxtion with french door access to the patio & gardens, both of which are available to guests. The patio perfectly catches the morning sunshine and guests are most welcome to take breakfast here. Both bedrooms are en-suite (shower), of good proportions an equipped with TV, Digital (freeview), DVD player, beverage facilities, radio alarm clock & hairdryer.

    For days out and about we are happy to provide packed lunches or a more substantial picnic hamper.

    Simple two course evening meals may be available by arrangement. However, there are a number of good pub restuarants within easy reach by car.

    Where possible our food is home grown, home made and locally or county sourced. Our own free range chickens will happily provide your breakfast eggs.

    Westhorpe is well suited for cycling and walking with a comprehensive network of routes. We are pleased to offer our guests the complimentary use of cycles, wellington boots and binoculars for the closer study of local wildlife.

    Whether it is ancient and historic castles, houses and churches, the RSPB reserve at Minsmere on the Suffolk Heritage coast, Viking treasures at Sutton Hoo, Constable ountry at Dedham Vale, antique hunting in 'Lovejoy's' Long Melford, sightseeing the regions historic towns and cities, or just simply taking in the pastoral scenery, pretty villages and long lunches in character pubs, you are sure to find much to do and much to enjoy by using the central location afforded by Moat Hill Farmhouse.

    Leave A14 at Haughley/Bacton Junction, follow signs to Bacton. At Bacton village green, turn left for Wyverstone (signposted). At Wyverstone T Junction, turn right for Westhorpe (signposted). At Westhorpe village green T Junction, turn left travel through village. Moat Hill Farmhouse is clearly identified on your right.

    From A143:
    Leave at mini roundabout where signposted to Walsham. At Walsham church crossroads, turn right. At top of hill turn left signposted Westhorpe. Moat Hill Farmhouse is clearly identified on your left just after entering Westhorpe.

    From A140:
    Leave at Stoke Ash White Horse crossroads signposted Finningham. At Finningham white Horse crossroads, straight ahead to Westhorpe. Travel through Westhorpe, Moat Hill Farmhouse clearly identified on your right.
