    The Malthouse is a friendly, welcoming 17th century home in the village of Alton situated one mile away from Alton Towers Theme Park. The Peak District National Park is a short drive away.

    Our comfortable centrally heated bedrooms are all en-suite and have the benefit of tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer and colour television. One of our family rooms is a themed "African Room" which children and adults alike enjoy. Our four-poster bedded room is located in The Stables and a ground floor wheelchair accessible room is also available.

    A varity of breakfasts are served in our traditional dining rooms, choose from, hearty English/vegetarian/vegan/continental/gluten free.

    Unwind in our licensed bar in the original beamed granary where you can play pool. A varity of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are served including draught beer, lagers and cider. Children are welcome in the bar accompanied by an adult. There are toys/puzzles to entertain younger guests.

    On fine evenings enjoy using the outdoor family area with views of the orchard. Private off road car parking is provided.

    Our unique 17th century malting cellars have recently been stabalised by English Heritage and are available to view during your stay.

    BY TRAIN: The nearest main line railway stations are in Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford and Derby. There is a small unmanned railway station at Uttoxeter.
    BY BUS: The nearest national express coach station is at Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent.
