You can expect a warm welcome by us, Kevin and Sue Hare, the new owners, upon your arrival at Cliff Lodge.
Cliff Lodge, is situated, as the name suggests on a cliff, overlooking the magnificent Sandown Bay. The garden offers direct access to the cliff path, part of the Island's coastal walk. Here you can take the path in one direction for a 15 minute amble and reach the town of Sandown. Or take the opposite direction for about 25 minutes and stroll along the prom to Shanklin. Lake Station is very close by - within easy walking distance. No intercities here though! If you do choose to come by car we have our own car park.
All our bedrooms are comfortably furnished with the essence of peace and quiet kept in mind. Our family rooms have a TV with video. A TV with Sky is provided in our cozy lounge for other guests. Or why not borrow one of our games or jigsaw puzzles and enjoy a holiday away from the television? All rooms have a tea and coffee tray, including various fruit teas, still and sparkling water, a hair dryer and a radio alarm clock. They are all en-suite with a shower, apart from 1 single room which has a shower and the toilet is across the hallway.
We promote Island businesses as much as possible and believe in 'buying local.' On our breakfast menu we use delicious sausages and bacon from a local farm. Where possible we use local vegetables, milk, butter, various jams and honey and Kevin also often makes his own jam. As we are now licensed to sell alcohol we also stock local wines.
If you fancy a change from a traditional fried breakfast, why not try our toasted English muffin with creamy scambled egg and shredded smoked salmon, or a Belgian waffle toasted and coated with a compote of berries and topped with Creme Fraiche? The choice is yours.
We also offer evening meals Sunday - Wednesday in High and Mid seasons and any day in Low season, with food freshly prepared by Kevin, a qualified and experienced chef. Our menu changes daily and a vegetarian choice is always available, meals can be booked on a daily basis - by the end of breakfast. We also hold a licence to sell alcohol.
