This charming B&B near Bristol offers a haven of tranquility away from the pressures of everyday life. Elm Tree Cottage is a genuine country cottage which started life over 250 years ago as a row of three to house quarry workers. Now one large house it has been altered and extended and gently evolved into a B&B. It enjoys a reputation for exceptional hospitality, friendly and efficient service, with good food, comfortable en-suite bedrooms, all rooms have full en-suite showers.
Set in the beautiful countryside of rural North Somerset, Elm Tree Cottage is situated 8 miles South West of Bristol and close enough to J19/20 of the M5 making it an ideal location for stopping off. It stands in quiet seclusion in the conservation area of Tickenham Hill with wonderful southerly panoramic views. Guests can use the footpath from the front gate which leads into Towerhouse Wood; ancient woodland owned by the Woodland Trust and just yards away.
With the benefit of the a footpath direct from the front gate we are ideally located for leisurely strolls in the adjacent woods and river banks or longer walks to take advantage of some of the many fabulous views like Cadbury Camp an Iron Age settlement about 20 minutes away, which has views to the Mendips, Severn Estuary and Brecon Beacons beyond.

| From the road B3130 we are reached via a private unmade-up lane which leads to three houses. Elm Tree Cottage is the last house at the top, 60 yards from the road. From M5 J20 Follow signs to Nailsea B3130. Proceed for 3.5 miles through Tickenham. 300 yards after Star Inn proceed straight on, sign posted Nailsea. We are 300 yards from this fork, on the left hand side 300 yards from junction. From M5 J19 Follow sign for Bristol. Immediately turn right signed to Portbury. At the junction in the village follow signs for Failand & Bristol. At the T junction turn right onto B3128 and stay on this road until the T junction at bottom of hill. Turn left signed Nailsea. We are on the left hand side 300 yards from the junction. |
