Crosthwaite House is a Georgian house with stunning views over the Lyth valley, which is famous for its damson orchards. We have six bedrooms simply but comfortably furnished all with en-suite shower and toilet, tea and coffee making facilities, digital TV.
We also have a guest lounge and dining room both with views over looking the valley.
All our food is locally sourced and freshly cooked on the Aga.
Although within the Lake District National Park, the Lyth valley is off the popular tourist track, yet only five miles from both Kendal and Windermere, so you are close enough to all the tourist activities but can return to Crosthwaite to relax in peace and comfort.
In the two valleys of Lyth and Winster we also have some wonderful walking and some of the best eating pubs in South Lakeland.
We have been in the tourist business for 35 years, 22 at Crosthwaite House, and born and bred in the Lake District. Thus, we can offer plenty of advice on things to see, mountains to climb, places to eat, even on the odd wet day!
