Established in 1996 within the City Walls, York Brewery is both a tourist attraction and a working brewery, providing customers locally and around the country with the first traditionally brewed ales from within the walls of York for over 40 years.

The brewery consists of a 20 barrel plant, six 20 barrel fermenters/one 60 barrel fermenter and five conditioning tanks. A gallery has been constructed around the brewhouse, providing an excellent viewing platform, with viewing panels into both the fermenting and conditioning rooms.

"High Quality" has been the watchword from the outset, a Head Brewer, Assistant Brewer and Brewery Consultant ensure the beers represent some of the finest available anywhere. Proof of this can be judged by the growing number of awards which have been awarded.
