Wimpole Hall, Garden and Park |
||||||||||
|
Wimpole Hall, set in rolling parkland and woodland, is part of the 2,500 acre Wimpole Estate. The Hall is a magnificent country house with beautiful interiors designed by celebrated architects, mainly eighteenth century in style. There are fascinating servants quarters.
The Hall is surrounded by formal gardens including parterres and a walled garden restored to a working vegetable garden.
With over 350 acres of landscaped parkland Wimpole Park is an oasis in the mostly arable countryside of Cambridgeshire.
With spectacular vistas, a 2½ mile South Avenue, Gothic Folly, woodland belts and serpentine lakes, Wimpole's Park is a haven for wildlife and is suitable for walkers, from the ambler to the serious rambler.
There are maps of walks and of the archaeology to help you to discover the extent and history of the park.
