Experience a unique fragment of the wilderness which once covered much of East Anglia - Wicken Fen is the oldest nature reserve in the country, celebrating its centenary in 1999.
It has now embarked on an ambitious expansion plan for the next 100 years. Famous for its rich plant, insect and bird life, it is a delight for the naturalist and rambler alike.
There are 2 tower hides and 7 other hides available for visitors to use. Wild ponies may be seen.
There are many walks available including: the ¾ mile Broad Walk trail, the 2¼ mile Nature trail, the 2¾ mile Adventures trail and optional longer trails.

Reserve: Open Daily all year dawn - dusk.Visitor Centre/Shop: 25th April to 23rd July: Tuesday to Sunday 10.00am - 5.00pm. 24th July to 3rd September: Daily 10.00am - 5.00pm. 5th September to 22nd October: Tuesday to Sunday 10.00am - 5.00pm. 23rd to 29th October: Daily 10.00am to 5.00pm. 31st October to 28th February 07: Tuesday to Sunday 10.00am to 4.30pm. Cafe: As centre above except 4th November to 25 February 07 Saturday and Sunday only 10.30am - 4.00pm Fen Cottage: 2nd April to 22nd October: Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays only 2.00pm - 5.00pm. |
