Visit Weston Park, set in the spectacular Shropshire countryside, and you will marvel at the beautiful Seventeenth Century House and the splendour of the 1,000 acre Parkland in which it rests. Formerly the ancestral home of the Earls of Bradford, gifted to the nation in 1986 by Richard, the 7th and present Earl of Bradford, and with the support of the National Heritage Memorial Fund it is now in the care of the Trustees of The Weston Park Foundation.
The House
Built in 1671 by Lady Elizabeth Wilbraham, this warm and welcoming house boasts a superb collection of paintings, furniture and objects d'art, providing continued interest and enjoyment for all of its visitors.
The Park & Gardens
Step outside to
enjoy the glorious Parkland - meander through the formal gardens, take one of a variety of woodland walks. The visitor centre provides a wide variety of information including; an auditorium showcasing a DVD presentation on the history of Weston Park and gift shop to browse through. Furthermore, The Stables Bar & Restaurant serves a selection of hot and cold food and beverages. All of this is centred around the courtyard with its various family games throughout the season and adjacent picnic area.
Children
With the renowned Woodland Adventure Playground and Deer Park, as well as the Miniature Railway which takes you on a 15 minute journey, there is so much for children to do. New for 2006 is a Yew Hedge Maze and Orchard.
Events
Weston Park has a long standing reputation for hosting outstanding public events. The exciting programme of events take place throughout the year and vary from Horse Trials, Proms concert, Gardeners Fayre to the V Festival.
