The National Trust for Scotland bought this important area in 1993 to protect its wild land character, to restore its natural flora and secure one of the most popular east/west paths in the Highlands. The path, now used only by walkers , was once part of the drove road from Skye to Dingwall. The 9,050 acres of West Affric joins the Trusts Kintail and Glomach properties making a total of 27,000 acres under Trust care.
Throughout this area, the Trust is carrying out vital conservation work to protect the character of this wilderness and restore its natural flora.
