The Walker Art Gallery has one of Europe's most impressive fine and decorative art collections, so before you escape on a cultural break, why not come and see the art on your doorstep!
You'll find Medieval, Renaissance and Pre-Raphaelite classics by household names such as Rembrandt, Rossetti and Turner, as well as one of the nation's favourite paintings - 'And When Did You Last See Your Father? by Yeames. Another star of the collection is the Holbein portrait of Henry VIII.
Our exciting variety of modern and contemporary art includes David Hockney, Lucian Freud and LS Lowry, while for families there's the ground-breaking Big Art - a specially designed children's gallery created with the help of Little Artists, John Cake Darren Neave.
Add to this our stunning sculpture gallery, a welcoming café and gift shop in magnificent surroundings and we reckon it's a perfect day out for any art lover - all within yards of Lime Street Station and free to visit!
