Discover the life and times of a major Roman city at St Albans, Hertfordshire.

This is the Museum of Everyday Life in Roman Britain. The displays and activities include:

  • recreated Roman rooms
  • hands-on Discovery Areas
  • excavation video
  • touch screen databases
  • accessible collections
  • "Touch the Past" sessions for schools
  • some of the best Roman mosaics and wall plasters outside the Mediterranean.

    A comprehensive resource and support service is available to teachers, with close relevance to the UK National Curriculum.

    The Museum is set in attractive parkland, and is near to the Roman Theatre, Walls and Hypocaust.
