Totnes Castle is a unique treasure in an area rich with character and history. It is one of the best surviving examples of a Norman motte-and-bailey castle. The once great ditch that surrounded the keep is today filled with the cottages and gardens of the town.
The castle has commanding views of Totnes, the River Dart and the surrounding area. Historic Totnes has regular ferry trips along the beautiful River Dart to Dartmouth - a journey not to be missed!
