Pensthorpe is a multi award-winning attraction situated in the beautiful North Norfolk countryside and provides a day of discovery and excitement.
Great for families with Bird Feeding and the Nature Quiz. Children can find out about aquatic life while Pond Dipping, and hunt for minibeasts in the new Bug Walk, then let off steam in the Adventure Playground. Don't miss the Wensum Discovery Tour, a
Landrover tour which brings the history and landscape of Pensthorpe to life.
Huge free-flight walk through aviaries with birds from around the world, and discover the work being done by the Pensthorpe Conservation Trust. Pensthorpe is a haven for all kinds of British wildlife. In spring the woodlands are carpeted with primroses and bluebells, and echo to the sound of birdsong. Along the riverbank the darting
kingfisher, shy water vole or elegant swans may be seen. Avocets and Ruff can be viewed at close quarters in the attractive Wader Pools. Enjoy an excellent view of waterfowl on the lakes from the comfort of our heated observation gallery. Pensthorpe offers the magic of the water's edge all year round. Over 100 species of bird from around the world create a carnival of
colour and sound, mingling effortlessly with more familiar native birds.
Access and Facilities for the Disabled
Award winning facilities include a designated parking area, accessible toilets and a network of hard surfaced pathways enabling ease of access to the water's edge. A raised dipping pool allowed children to study pond life in safe surroundings, and a newly accessible bridge over the Wensum offers fine views of the
river and grazing meadows.General Information
