Orford Ness, a wild and remote area is the largest vegetated shingle spit in Europe. It contains a variety of habitats which are home to nationally rare birds, animals and plants. This is an important site for the breeding, passage and overwintering of birds.

There is a 5 mile pedestrian route with information and displays on natural history and the history of the Ness. Other routes are available at certain times of the year.
