Monikie Country Park, with its reservoirs, woodland and parkland, is an ideal location for a visit to the countryside. The scenic surroundings offer many opportunities to enjoy the outdoors at any time of the year. The 'Old Park' is a popular attraction for picnickers and is an ideal area for ball games. Permanent orienteering and other trails are open on a
daily basis.
The Country Park is registered with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and is licensed to carry out watersports instruction. Hire and instruction are offered in windsurfing, sailing and canoeing between May and September. Craft, equipment and changing rooms with hot showers are provided.
The former reservoirs are ideal habitat for a variety of birds and aquatic life. At Denfind Sanctuary is
a hide where nesting and feeding birds can be closely observed. The woodlands are home to the red squirrel, stoat and many birds. Fly fishing takes place through the Monikie Angling Club - the ponds are stocked with brown and rainbow trout.
New Ropes Course
This spectacular new facility built high in the treetops will provide an exciting challenge for young and old alike and is ideal for birthday parties and social events. Participants are provided with climbing harnesses and helmets and are protected by belay ropes. The facility includes a 40ft climbing tower with 2 climbing walls, abseil points, parachute jump, 100m zip wire, leap of faith, Jacob's ladder, balance beams, crate stack and high and low all aboards.General Information:

From Dundee: Take the A92 and take the slip road signposted to Monikie Country Park, Monikie and Newbigging. Follow signs to Park. From Forfar: Take the B9128 signposted to Carnoustie. After approximately 10 miles turn right at the Crombie crossroads onto the B962. From there the park is signposted. |
