The McLellan Galleries is now Closed.
The McLellan Galleries first opened in 1854 to house the personal collection of Glasgow industrialist and coachbuilder Archibald McLellan. His collection formed the basis of the art collection at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. The McLellan Galleries now provide a high-quality temporary exhibition space.
Until November 2005 the McLellan Galleries will be home to Art Treasures of Kelvingrove, an
exhibition of 200 of the highlights of Kelvingrove's fine and decorative art collections.
At the galleries you can see The Story of Kelvingrove, The Glasgow Style, Reason & Romanticism: British Art 1600-1880, The Pursuit of Colour: British Art 1800-1960, Renaissance & Beyond: Italian Art 1350-1750, The Age of Rembrandt: Dutch & Flemish Art 1600-1750.
