Ludlow Racecourse |
Tradition has it that in the fourteenth century soldiers from Ludlow Castle came here not only to practice archery but also to match their horses. There is certainly a record of racing in 1729. The course retains not only its Edwardian character but also its Club atmosphere. Though now a national Hunt course, it did not have jumping until the mid-nineteenth century . Today Owners and Trainers from all over the Country come to race their horses over the same ground.
The new hospitality boxes are completed to the highest standard and provide comfort and luxury for customers and their guests. Complete with an exclusive Tote Betting area, these boxes are perfect for private and corporate entertaining. Each have their own balcony providing a panoramic view of the whole course and surrounding scenic countryside.
The Clive Pavilion is an ideal function room for business conferences on non-racedays. Capable of accommodating 500 people for a sit down meal. Ample parking space and sited away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The venue caters for wedding ceremonies and receptions, birthday and anniversary celebrations and dinner dances.
