The Maritime Museum was opened in 1985. It occupies the former Custom House of 1764 by Richard Gillow and an adjacent warehouse.

Using sounds, smells, reconstructions and audio-visuals it tells the story of the port of Lancaster, the Lancaster Canal, fishing and the ecology of Morecambe Bay.

    Open daily except Christmas and New Year. Easter to October inclusive 11.00am - 5.00pm. November to Easter 12.30pm - 4.00pm.
