Holker Hall and Gardens |

At Holker you always feel like a welcome guest not a tourist. It is set in exceptionally beautiful countryside with gardens merging into parkland, with hills on one side and the expanse of Morecambe Bay on the other.
Wander freely through this 'best-loved' of stately homes never impeded by ropes or barriers. It is a marvellous reflection of its age with its atmosphere of confidence and spaciousness, and the craftsmanship in many of the rooms is outstanding.
One of the greatest joys of Holker is the 25 acre formal garden. It offers rare treats and allows for personal discovery thanks to the generations of keen, enthusiastic and gifted gardeners. The Grounds surrounding the Hall
and Gardens provide for delightful walks and offer the opportunity for relaxation.
The privately owned Lakeland Motor Museum is a major attraction. The fine collection of vehicles provides motoring memories and a nostalgic look at our motoring past.
The Courtyard Café will tempt your palate with traditional Cumbrian fare.
The Gift Shop with design led and unique gifts, many personally selected by Lady Cavendish, is unrivalled in the area and beyond. Its shelves are the unusual and personal and the plant sales allow the visitor to take a little of Holker home.
The Food Hall is a distinctly Cumbrian entity offering a range of Estate and bespoke produce. Indulge yourself with regional delicacies such as local cheeses, newly baked bread, the famous Estate Saltmarsh Lamb and fresh produce. You can also choose from a delectable range of food gifts for family and friends who enjoy the finer things.
The vast majority of the estate is suitable for disabled, and dogs on leads are permitted in the Parkland but not in the Hall, Restaurant or Gift Shop. Guide dogs have free access. Awarded by the Good Britain Guide for 2003 the Cumbria Family Attraction of the Year, Holker Hall and Gardens makes a special effort when it comes to families. There are many activities throughout the year with them in mind.
